I have checks, state and Federal refund, to deposit or cash. However, they are made out to both my husband and myself. My husband has signed them, but has gone off to Iraq. The bank has closed our joint account because it has been non-active for six months. How can I cash or deposit the money without him here in person to verify that the signature on the back of these checks is his?

Even though your bank account is closed, the bank may still have access to the old signature card. It's possible that you may get some assistance from a bank representative, especially since your husband is serving in Iraq. The bank may even be willing to reopen the account.
