I want to transfer money into the bank account of an ex-boyfriend. I have a copy of the check he previously cashed that I wrote to him. Will the back of that check (endorsement side) contain all the info I need to wire money into his account? He won't accept a check or cash, but I want to pay the money he spent on a plane ticket for me, and this is only way I can think of to do it. Naturally, I can't ask him for his account number because we aren't speaking anymore, and he wouldn't give it to me anyway since he doesn't want my money. I'm a federal prosecutor and swear to God, I'm not pulling a fraud or a con game.

It's possible that the check will have enough information to identify the bank and account number, but it is equally possible that the information, particularly the deposit account number, isn't there. Your bank may be able to help you see if the numbers are there.
If you are able to discern enough information to wire the funds, it would entail a little more research than simply looking at the back of the check, there's nothing to guarantee that he won't have the information needed to wire the funds back to you. Only you can decide if it's important enough for you to pursue this quest for information.
