Is there a maximum dollar amount that can be deposited into a bank, such as winnings from a lottery etc., from a bank transfer?

Generally, there's no such limit. An individual bank may have concerns if extraordinarily large amounts were transferred in, both in terms of being worried about fraud and in terms of how such a deposit might be managed by the customer (how much of the money will "stick" at the bank?) and whether the bank will need to take steps to invest some of the funds. The bank would want to understand the source of the funds to take precautions against possible fraud or use of the bank's accounts for money laundering.
