The local branch bank of my bank is being bought by another bank. I got notice saying my money was being switched to this new bank even though the main office of the bank still exists. All this has been done with a four day notice, even my debit card and checks will not be any good. Is this legal and what should I do?

If you have questions about the short notice or how you should proceed, contact the bank where your account will now be held. Among other things, that bank should be in a position to tell you how quickly you can get a replacement card and checks.
