Wiring Funds Outside US Confidential?

If I wire funds from my bank here in the U.S. to a bank outside the U.S., is my bank here required to provide this information to the Federal Government or is it kept private between my banker and me?

The information is ordinarily not reported. However, the bank's records are always open to examination and the bank would have to respond to a legally-issued subpoena or similar order for information.
