Gave Wrong Number for Direct Deposit; What Now?

I have a tax refund scheduled to be deposited 2/06/09, but I used the routing number on my check, which I later found was the wrong thing to do. I've called IRS and my bank, who say that nothing can be done. Is there any possibility that deposit will go through?

By now, you should know if the refund was credited to your account. Contact the IRS again to see if it was bounced back to them. It may be too soon to know. If the IRS does receive it back, it will automatically order a check payment for you.
