Years ago a bank closed my account due to inactivity, and they did not tell me how to reclaim my money that is no longer there. How do I get it back?

The funds in the account would have been considered dormant or inactive if you were not in contact with the bank or conducting transactions. The bank is then required to escheat the funds to the state. Call the state comptroller or use one of the free web sites available to find money owed to you. This site may help.
