Who Can Deposit Money to My Account?

Is it legal for someone to deposit money into my account without my authorization?

Untitled

There are several flags here. Basically, many banks will accept a deposit from anyone when they know into what account the money is supposed to go. If the person doesn't have an account number, the bank should not give them a receipt with the account number, but rather mail you the receipt. Conversely, some banks will not accept a deposit without a deposit ticket or the person knowing the account number for which it is intended.

This could be an attempt to get your bank account information. You and your bank should be aware of that. It could also be a mistake. Again, you and the bank should be aware of that too, so corrective action can be taken.
