Married, but Wants Account in Maiden Name: Legal?

Can I open an account in my maiden name? For proof of ID I have my marriage certificate, birth cerfificate, passport (in my married name) and bills in my married name.

Whether or not a bank will allow you to use your maiden name will be a matter of that bank's policy. Many banks require that accounts be carried in the name for which a customer can provide documentary identification. If the bank's policy permits the use of your maiden name, it would be completely legal.
