I deposited twenty dollars cash in my account to cover $18.47 worth of gas that I charged to my card and forgotten. Now the bank is trying to charge me overdaftfees when I deposited this money in the account, and they said that the cash wouldnt post until the next business day. Should I fight them?

Your bank provided you with a schedule that tells you when deposited funds are available. It said something to the effect that deposits made after 2 PM would be credited the next business day. If that electronic debit came in before your deposit was credited to your account, you were technically overdrawn.
You might call the bank, ask for an officer, and explain your position. If the debit cleared shortly before the deposit was made, explain your position. If you have a good account with them and they value that account, they may be willing to waive the fee in whole or in part.
