If an account is titled "Joint Tenants by Entirety", does the account have to have both signatures to conduct business on it, or can they make withdrawals or write checks with only one person's signature?

What "tenancy by the entirety" means with respect to a deposit account is controlled by state law. Most states don't recognize it as a form of account ownership, but some do, Florida is one. T by E (for short) is a form of ownership that is only available to married couples. It typically does not affect the access rights of either spouse (two signatures are not needed), but it does protect funds in an account from attachment or garnishment by a creditor of either one of the spouses, much as T by E ownership provides protection for real estate owned by spouses.
