Need Levy-Proof Account

Can I get an account that the IRS can't levy for money I owe them? I have a girlfriend with accounts. Can I be added as a signature? This has been an ongoing issue for 20 years! I'm paying, but slowly!

There is no such account available. When taxpayers owe the IRS money, and the IRS is unable to work with them under what it believes to be a satisfactory payment plan, the IRS can attempt to identify accounts in the taxpayer's name and then levy against the accounts after notifying the taxpayer of its intent to do so. Whether or not you can be added as a signer on your girlfriend's accounts is up to your girlfriend, and her bank. The bank will not want you to deposit your funds into her account unless you are a co-owner, not just a signer, and you'd be wise not to do so anyhow, because you would have no way to reclaim the funds if something were to happen to her. If you become a co-owner of the accounts, your girlfriend would get dragged into your IRS problems, because the accounts could be levied for your tax obligations.
