My daughter is buying a vehicle from me. She wants to transfer funds from her bank in Virginia to my bank in Georgia. We do not have the same bank. She says she needs my account number to make this transfer. Can she use my account number to withdraw the money without my knowledge?

Theoretically, yes, she could use your account number information to take funds from your account. However, if you have ever sent her a check from your account, she could have obtained the same information then. If anyone takes funds from your account without your authorization, you have the right to enter a claim with your bank, and be reimbursed, if you do so promptly.
