I need bank statements from 1/1997 through 4/2004. Is there anyway of getting them?
Banks are not required to keep statements and other account information more than five to seven years in most states, but sometimes a bank has records older than the law requires. Start by contacting the bank to ask whether there's a chance it will have the very old statements for what you're looking. If the bank can't help you, and the statements aren't tucked away in a file in your attic or basement somewhere, you're probably out of luck.
