My daughter and her ex-boyfriend have a joint account. He took all the money out, including money that was her paycheck. What can she do?
As far as the account contract is concerned, he had as much right to make the withdrawals as she did. Any recourse your daughter has would be against her ex-boyfriend. In most cases, there's not a lot she can do if he won't give her back the money, unless she had some sort of enforceable contract with him. The likely outcome is that your daughter won't get much from this sorry mess besides a good lesson about being very careful about with whom she sets up accounts.
