I am in the middle of a separation from my wife. Early on in the process, we discovered two bank accounts that were not being disclosed, but my wife was claiming as her own on her taxes. She received interest income on them, but did not list them on her part of the discovery portion of the process. They are under only her name and SSN. I don't want to get her in any legal trouble, but I disclosed everything even a 20k bonus check received just recently, and was advised not to due to the timing. I also don't want to be taken advantage of, which I feel she is doing, especially after discovering she withdrew thousands of dollars from my account right before I got my own. How can I find additional information, such as, if she closed any accounts lately?
Banks cannot divulge such information unless legally compelled to by the courts, and that takes a subpoena, so this is a matter you will have to leave to your attorney to work out. Perhaps when confronted with the fact that you've discovered the two undisclosed bank accounts, your wife will be prompted to update her asset list and provide added information.
