Getting Info about Someone Else's Account

How could I find out how much money was in my grandparents' account before my aunt was put on it? I think she might have taken money that wasn't hers.

Unless you have some guardianship over your grandparents or otherwise have an ownership interest in the account, the bank will not release this information to you. You have no legal rights to it.

If you believe your grandparents have been abused, most states have laws to protect the elderly from abuses. Search your states laws as there may be a department in the government to assist you.

The easiest way is to review their bank statements, with their permission. Still, accounting for who did what with commingled funds can be difficult as a cash withdrawal, for example, may be spent on anything, for the benefit of anyone.
