Lifting a Voluntary Freeze on Account

I have a friend who is working overseas, but lives in the U.S. He put a freeze/hold on his account. He spent all his money paying off taxes for a construction project. Now he claims he is broke and can't get access to his accounts due to a voluntary freeze. How can I help him get his money from U.S. to Spain?

Your friend needs to talk directly with his bank. The bank won't discuss the problem with you unless your friend grants you a power of attorney to act on his behalf. Even then, the bank might insist on talking with him to ensure it can discuss his personal business with you.
