Does Wife 'Inherit' Joint Account?

If I create a joint account with my son, and he dies or divorces, does his wife get half of the money?


The laws of your state may affect the outcome, but in general, if your joint account owner (your son) dies and you survive him, the account becomes yours, free of any claim from his wife or ex-wife.
