Making a Deposit of an Estate Check

How do I deposit an estate check into the account of a deceased individual? We have a life insurance policy that didn't have any heirs listed. All other policies were left in my brother's name and he won't pay funeral expenses. I would like to use this policy to do so.

A check payable to a deceased individual can only be endorsed by the official representative of the estate (the administrator or executor) and it must be deposited into an estate account. Once that is done, the funds may be used, with the supervision of the court, to pay the funeral bill and expenses of last illness.
