Card Transaction Allowed on Closed Account

My bank closed my checking account. Then a week later paid a POS transaction, charged me an overdraft fee, and when I didn't pay it, charged a ten days overdrawn fee, and when I didn't pay that, they intiated a lawsuit. Any thoughts?

If the POS transaction was initiated before the account was closed, and you made the transaction or benefited from it, you don't have a reason to complain that the transaction was posted to your account. You might, however, have a reason to ask the bank to reverse its fees if there was a positive balance in the account large enough to cover the POS transaction when the bank closed the account.

Contact the bank and try to get this matter resolved before the lawsuit proceeds. No one will win if you allow the suit to go forward, except attorneys.
