I will be traveling abroad for a few months, but my bank is here in the US. What happens when a check is sent to my US address while I'm gone? Can I have someone else put the money in my account even though I didn't endorse it?

Make arrangements with your bank in advance, so that there are no surprises for them or for you. The bank should be OK with what you want to do, but there are some banks that can be sticklers for endorsements (even though the law allows them to take unendorsed checks for deposit).
Assuming the bank has no problem with the plan, if you are comfortable that whoever deposits these checks to your account will learn your account number, you can provide that individual with blank deposit tickets to facilitate getting the checks into your account. If you prefer not to share your account number with anyone, you can ask the bank if it will credit the checks to your account when brought in by a third party during your absence.
