My bank has deposited a large amount of money in my account to cover a check that an ATM ate. It has been over a month and the bank has yet to remove these funds. How long before I get to keep the money, or do they always have the ability to remove that money from my account?
There is no statute of limitations on when the bank can identify the problem and correct it. If you'd like to resolve the problem sooner, contact the bank and call it to their attention.
