I want to close my business account. My business is structured as a corporation. Would I be able to obtain a cashier's check in my name? Would I be able to get cash?
If the bank issues a cashier's check, it will name the corporation, its customer, as the payee, and getting that check cashed could be a problem if the bank sticks by its normal policies on cashing checks payable to businesses. If you draw a check for the account balance, payable to yourself, and cash it (work with your bank to determine the right amount), you'll accomplish closing the account and have the cash at the end of your visit.
