I filed an alternate name form to do business with another name in my state. This is not a change, but an addition. Can I open a new account with that name or depositchecks in my current account made payable and endorsed in that name?
You could do it either way, legally. If you are adding a second business, your bank may want you to open a separate account, or it may allow you to operate both businesses through the account you have already. It will depend on the bank's policy.
