I just fired an employee, but that employee had one of my business checking accounts in his name. How do I close that account without his signature?
It's difficult to understand how an account of your business could be in the name of one of your employees. Gather whatever documentation you have to demonstrate that the account in fact belongs to your business and pay a visit to the bank. If the bank is convinced of your argument, it may allow you to close the account. If it is not, you may need to convince your ex-employee to return the account to your ownership by closing it out and transferring the funds to your control.
If neither of those approaches works, you'll probably need to decide whether talking to an attorney will be your next step. That will depend on how much money is involved and your estimate of the cost of legal help.
