I personally deposited a check from my friend's business to my business account. After it was accepted, two days later, I noticed that they removed the amount from my account and charged me an overdraftfee of $35.00, just because of this check. What can I do?

When your bank accepts a check for deposit to your account, it does so conditionally. If a check you deposit is returned unpaid, your bank will charge the deposited check back to your account, reversing the credit you originally received. If you have used some of the deposited funds in the meantime, and your account is overdrawn as a result of the charge-back, you are obliged to deposit funds to cover the overdraft and any fee caused by the overdraft. Because it appears that your friend's check started the problem, you could reasonably ask your friend to reimburse you for the overdraft fee in addition to any other money he owes you because of the dishonored check.
