I am 18 years old and looking to get a business loan. I am a voice-over talent and need the money to get this business off the ground. I have a high school diploma, but no college education. How should I go about getting a business loan? Am I even qualified to get one? I currently have a job and some savings, but not much else.
There are many factors that would apply here. Your education level wouldn't be of much concern, but rather your business plan. For voice-overs, I wouldn't think you'd need a very large loan as your equipment is your voice, unless you want to build your own studio.
Create a business plan and call your bank so you can speak with a commercial lender. You may have to divide your plan into stages if you do want a complete studio, and you may be better off first getting a solid reputation as a talent and a consistent income. Above all else, your lender wants to know that you'll have the cash flow to repay the debt.
