Contingent/Convenience Signer on a CD

Is a contingent signer allowed on a certificate of deposit?

It would be very unusual to see such a signer on a certificate of deposit. However, an attorney in fact (an individual given a power of attorney) for the CD owner would be able to issue instructions relating to the account. In that sense, he or she could be considered a convenience signer.
