Named on CD, but Not My Legal Name

My father named me as beneficiary on a CD. However, he wrote my first name and my husband's last name. I kept my last name and did not take my husband's name. The name on the CD is not my legal name. What do I do?

Gather documents that support your legal name and a copy of your marriage license. Your birth certificate should reflect your father's name, and that can show that you are his daughter, to help support your claim. Take all that to the bank and identify yourself as the individual named in the beneficiary designation. You may find that's all you need.
