Bank has No Record of Our CD: What to do?

The bank has no record of a CD we purchased, and we can't locate our paperwork. We are desperately trying to find the cashier's check or any other record. What can we do?

Unfortunately, there is very little that can be done if you have no records and neither does the bank. You can look for the records which were the source of the deposit. Perhaps that will help the bank better define the date the account may have been opened. Verify with them the names and addresses as well as SSNs of the owners. The last recommendation is to ask when the CD was to mature, and if it may have been considered unclaimed property under state law and escheated to the state.
