Borrowing Against a CD

Can I borrow from or against a CD if I am within a year from it?

The bank holding the CD can make a loan to you, which can be timed to mature with the CD. This loan may or may not have any payments associated with it, other than the one at the maturity of the CD. That is, depending on the amount you want to borrow and the amount of the CD, periodic payments may or may not be required. The CD can always be used to retire the loan.
