Check Clearing Time

How soon can one draw money from a checking account without fear of an overdraft, when money from a personal check has been deposited to that account?

Untitled

If the funds came from your own account at another bank, you should know whether the check used to transfer the funds will be paid or not. If you aren't sure, or if the funds came from someone else's account, you should keep a copy of the check so that you can contact the bank it was drawn on to find out if the check has been paid.

Once the check from the other bank is paid, you should feel assured that it won't bounce and create an overdraft in your account. You should also check that your bank, into which you deposited the check, has made the deposited funds available for withdrawal.
