Retiree's Account Frozen

My bank account is being frozen. What can I do about it? The only thing I have is my Social Security check coming into it. I am 78 years old and disabled.

You have to first find out why the account is being frozen. Perhaps you have an unpaid financial obligation and your creditor has attached your account. Perhaps your account has been levied for unpaid taxes.

Once you know on what authority the bank is denying you access to your account funds, you can ask the bank for suggestions on how to proceed. If you can't get help from that quarter, contact the Legal Services office in your county for advice.
