Is there any way that someone is able to find out information going back thirty years on a checking account?

In most cases, banks have purged information that old from their records. For most checking accounts that are currently open, banks retain only between five and seven years of the most recent transaction and statement history, plus any depositaccount agreement documents including signature cards in use during that same period.
If an account has been closed for more that seven years, it's likely that there are no records of the account remaining with the bank. If anyone holds records older than that, it might be the depositor who, for one reason or another, hasn't yet purged all those old records.
