Bank Officer Deposits Non-Profit Checks to His Account

I work for a 501c3 - recently a senior bank officer at our bank deposited checks made out to our non-profit center into his personal account. What are the legalities/repercussions for something like this?

What you describe could be theft if the non-profit organization hasn't signed this check over. There is no reason for anyone to deposit a check to their account that is made out to someone else. An exception to this is when a young child/minor gets a check for a birthday as example, and has no account.

The 501c(3) should be asking this question in conjunction with the payor of the check. The non-profit isn't getting funds that are for them. The bank the check is drawn on should initiate an investigation because the non-profit hasn't endorsed the check.
