I have just received a subpoena regarding my checking account. Will my bank contact me about this subpoena before they do the research or after?

The subpoena was issued under either federal or state law. The bank will be responsible for following the applicable law in its handling of it. It's possible that, if you have already received a copy of the document, the bank will not be required to contact you at all. It's also possible that the bank will be required to inform you of its answer to the subpoena. No knowing the jurisdiction in which the subpoena was served, we aren't able to give you a more complete answer. Contact legal counsel for further information.
