Overdraft Protection: No Funds: Write Checks?

I have six dollars in my account with six hundred dollars overdraft protection. If I wrote a check for $160, will it clear?

Without knowing the terms of your overdraft protection service, this question cannot be answered with certainty. If it's based on transfers from a true line of credit or from a savings account and you have enough available in the line or savings, the check should clear. If your overdraft protection is in the form of an agreement that allows your bank to decide whether to pay a given check, but the bank has said it's likely to pay overdrafts of up to $600, your check is likely to clear, although you'll probably have to pay a fee.
