Is there anywhere I can cash a temporary personal check for cash?
Untitled
Banks issue temporary personal checks on new accounts for two purposes: paying bills that can't wait until a new depositor's printed checkbooks are delivered, and obtaining cash from the bank. Merchants and others, including check cashing businesses, are extremely wary of accepting temporary checks or cashing them. Part of the reason is that so much check fraud involves new accounts, and there is no more obvious sign of a new account than a temporary check. If you want to use one of your temporary checks to get cash from your account, the best thing to do is to go to a branch of the bank where you opened the account.
