Can't Have Two Authorized Signers? Why?

I am going to college and want to have both my mother and father as authorized signers on my checking account, but my bank says I have to choose one or the other, that I cannot have two authorized signers. Is that a law or just some silly rule?

The bank's policy may limit access to the account. Whether that s a silly rule or not we can't say. If it is their policy, they have reasons for it. It isn't a federal law. You have two options, live with it and make a choice, or call other banks and ask what their policy is, seeking one that meets your needs.
