Bank Closes Account: Where to Cash Check?

A bank closed my checking account, and issued me a check from a company that uses that same bank. Can I still cash the check there?

Your old bank may or may not choose to cash a check for a non-customer. That is their option. Some banks will and others require you to deposit the check at your new bank or at a check casher. Open an account at another bank, even if it is a savings account, to allow you to process checks.
