Electronic Deposit Goes Astray

Money was deposited into our bank account, but I don't know where the money came from. It was done by EFT. I have the trace number, which I am told part is the ABA # 065300276718019. How can I find out who this ABA number belongs to?

The trace number was exactly the clue needed to track down the name and telephone number of the Originating Depository Financial Institution and sent that information to you; by now you have probably heard from that bank concerning the source of those funds. If you receive an unexpected EFT credit to your account, your financial institution should always be able to trace its origin. In this case, the transfer came via the automated clearinghouse (ACH) system, and the trace number includes information on the bank where the transfer originated. If the EFT had come via a wire transfer, the transfer record, available to your bank, would include information on where the transfer began its life.
