Son Opened Account without Consent: Am I Liable?

If my 17-year-old son manages to open a checking account without my approval or signature can I be held liable for any overdraft fees he accrues?

Because laws vary widely from state to state this question cannot be answered. However, unless you are a party to the checking account deposit contract, you should not be liable for any problems with it.
