Cashing Checks for a Minor

What is the correct way to cash my daughter's paycheck for her? She is a minor; I've been cashing her checks for months with no problem. Suddenly yesterday it was not so easy.

Open an account in the minor's name if your bank and state laws allow this, or a joint account. Even when state laws do allow a minor to own a checking or savings account, the bank has the option to provide that account or not. You need to ask. In most cases though, they're happy to open a joint account as the parent would be responsible for the minor's actions.
