If the check is payable to her, your bank would often not allow this to happen. Your daughter needs to show that she received benefit of the check. She could sign it over to you so you are then the payee.
Certainly bank policies vary on this. If it is a birthday check for a minor child that is one issue, but if it is a regular paycheck for a minor who is working, that would be another. Why not look for a low or no cost student account? Many parents today have accounts with their children and instead of giving the child checks or access to the account as the parent has, they transfer money to a debit card as needed, or pre-set as an allowance. The child then uses the debit card. When it is empty, they wait for the next time the parent has money moved over to it.
