I would like to set up a monthly direct deposit from my account into my landlord's account at another bank. My bank won't let me do this, is there a bank that will?
Paying your rent automatically is a great idea, but rather than ask your bank to do it for you why not just enroll in Internet Banking and use the bill paying service to do this for you? For your bank to do it, they'd have to jump through a lot of hoops and create special procedures. It isn't worth doing for an individual account when there are more cost effective ways to do what you want.
If your bank doesn't offer Internet Banking or charges a fee you are not will to pay, ask them why they don't have it and look for a bank that does. You could have one bank account for all your transactions, or you could set up a second account where you just do your Internet Banking. Having a choice is a good thing.
