Getting Bank to Reverse Overdraft Fees

I got into financial trouble with overdraft fees and my account has gotten out of control. I have been diagnosed with a mental illness that caused me to get into the financial crisis. My physician wrote a letter stating that it was caused by the illness and that since I am now medicated it should not happen again. Is there any way I can get the bank to work with me and reverse the overdraft fees?

The best advice that can be given in this instance is "You won't know if you don't ask." Contact the bank and ask for an appointment, so that you can discuss your problem face-to-face. Bankers are human, and perhaps your banker will be able to make some accommodation for you.
