Under the regulation about CHECK 21, is the bank required to provide their customers with a copy of both the front and back of the check?
Check 21 does not provide standards for check copies that banks provide to their customers. Except where state law provides some restrictions, banks aren't required to provide checks or check copies routinely in bank statements.
When a customer requests a check copy, and the bank is aware that the customer needs the reverse of the check to document receipt and endorsement of the check payee, it should be routine to provide copies of both sides of the check, but your bank may have limits on its ability to do so.
