If I cash a check at my bank, does it show in any way on my account?
If you go to a teller window and exchange a check for cash, no. If the funds actually go into your account and out of it, then yes. In either case, your account number or some identification will be indicated on that check because you negotiated it. If it is returned as unpaid for whatever reason, you bank uses that information to reverse the transaction. In that way it is linked to your deposit account.
