Voiding a Cashier's Check

We decided to purchase a car from a private party. We didn't have a bill of sale or signed title. Our bank issued a cashier's check to his bank. We went to pick up the car and found out there is something wrong with it. We called our bank, but they had already sent the check by UPS. They tracked it and got it sent back to them. Can they void the cashier's check and can I take back the vehicle?

If by "take back the vehicle" you mean "return it," yes. You were very fortunate that the bank was able to retrieve the cashier's check for you. Your bank should have no problem at all voiding the check and returning your funds. You should quickly arrange to return the vehicle to avoid any possibility of being charged with auto theft. Get a third party to witness your return of the vehicle.
